2013 Opening Night Film and Speaker

Thursday, January 24, 2013

6:30pm in Somsen Auditorium at Winona State University

Film: Living Downstream

Speaker: Sandra Steingraber

When we saw “Living Downstream”, we knew it was right for the festival. Sandra Steingraber shares a story which revolves around her search for answers. Central themes – like the connection between chemicals and disease – offer a provocative perspective on life in the shadow of Big Agriculture, and, in her case, a thirty year survivor of cancer …. Steingraber’s tenacious scientific look at industrial pollution, considers the facts, and provides answers. This is just one of over 50 documentary films to be presented at the 8th annual Frozen River Film Fest – don’t just take our word for it, come out and see for yourself.

I’ve read the book “Living Downstream”. I am very excited to learn it has been made into a film and that I have the opportunity to see it close to Rochester. Thank you for choosing Sandra Steingraber for the opening night of the film fest.
