    “All of a sudden we had people calling us up, saying, ‘I’ve always wanted to do this,’” Fox said. Early on in the project, Leonhardt said, the participants dreamed, “Wouldn’t it be great if someday we could be part of the Frozen River Film Festival?” Earlier this month, that dream came true.

  • Frozen River Film Festival Relocates Office

    Frozen River Film Festival (FRFF) has moved to a new location in downtown Winona.

    FRFF will be sharing space with Rethos at 164 East Third Street. Rethos is a nonprofit organization working nationwide for the use of old buildings and sites, and is the Main Street America coordinating entity for the state of Minnesota.

  • Mountainfilm on Tour to Arrive In Winona

    Mountainfilm on Tour in Winona is hosted by Frozen River Film Festival (FRFF). FRFF has been organizing Mountainfilm on Tour for 16 years as part of its February film festival. FRFF works to engage, educate and activate the community to become involved in the world through the art of documentary filmmaking. While hosting an inspiring collection of films, the show is also an opportunity to support the upcoming February festival, which will be offered in a hybrid format for 2022. Passes to the 2022 FRFF will be on sale at the Mountainfilm on Tour screenings.

  • FRFF Will Present Two Free Screenings

    On Sunday, October 10, at 7 p.m., FRFF staff will be at the Historic Trempealeau Hotel in Trempealeau. FRFF Managing Director Eileen Moeller said, “We are so thrilled to be able to collaborate with the Trempealeau Hotel on this event. They have been wonderful to work with, and we are excited about this new connection between the festival and the restaurant.”
